Daddy, Mommy and me making a funny face when Adam gave us a private tour at NASA. For those who don’t know — my family LOVES the space program. Often you would see my daddy watching a documentary about one of the space programs. To say the least, we all were really really excited on this tour.

Daddy, Adam and me on one of the many take your kids to work day. Adam and I went every year until we were too old to go. We loved it! Daddy loved showing how different things at work.

TBT. Oct. 11, 2013 Celebrating one year victory over cancer. Though God needed daddy as His angel, I am so truly grateful for the years I had with him. Like any family, there were moments where we butted heads. However, I always knew my daddy loved me. No matter what, I knew my daddy loved me and was always there for me. Dad always told me how much he loved me and was proud of me. However, he always showed me too which is just as important. Love you daddy. Though you are not physically here with us, I know u have visited in ways u can and i am so glad you are.

DadA photo of Dad was sent to us through Facebook and I thought I would share this with everyone. Its a selfie of dad with Shar Lepard at work on July 9th. Dad loved the people he worked with at Continental / United. I love his smile in this photo. Little know fact: for many years, we would sit at the dinner table and ask dad “So Dad, what did you do today?” He would then tell us all the stuff that happened at work.

There has been couple people that has asked Jennifer and I if we will be shutting down dad’s blog. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! One of the best ways to keep Dad’s spirit alive is to have a spot to write about our lives. We will continue to post updates about the Cunningham family among other things. On a personal note, I know the photo section is currently out of date, but over the next month or two, I am planning on importing pictures to bring it up-to-date.

So, please continue looking at the blog to continue honoring dad and all who fight cancer. Feel free to write comments on the blog as well through Facebook.

Today, July 24, 2014 is my parents 38th wedding anniversary. This day in 1976, my parents (high school sweethearts) said I do. Many ups and downs but their love is real. My parents have been together since my mom was 14 and my dad was 15 years old. They met at church and have been together ever since. Mom and dad – I love you so much and you have shown me that love can bring two people together. Happy anniversary.

As many of yall know, I am the proud owner of Texas Webmaster. I design and development web sites for individuals, businesses and non profit organizations. My mission is to custom tailor a web site that best fits each individual client’s needs.

However, I am also an IT person at NASA Johnson Space Center. If your unfamiliar what the Sonny Carter Training Facility is… it is a facility where the astronauts trains in the BIG pool to simulate “Zero G” gravity. No one without a NASA badge is allowed on site unless you have a visitors escort badge. I had to go through some red tape, but I was able to get these escort badges for Dad, Mom, and Jennifer.

Below is a family photo of us being near the poolside of Sonny Carter on November 25, 2013:

In honor of my Dad and to all those who have served in the US Military, past, present & future, I personally want to thank you all of our nation’s armed forces, as well as their families who have endured to support them. It has allowed many people in this great country to pursue their dreams and passions. It has allowed us to live on the land of the free and the home of the brave.

A friend of mine wrote this on his own Facebook wall about Veterans Day:
Today is the day we honor the veterans of the United States of America military, living & dead. These men & women, mostly at the tender age of 18 signed a blank check for up to their life. They have sacrificed more than you could ever imagine, things we here in the real world take for granted. They have sacrificed their mind, body, soul & all their own freedoms to fight for ours. THAT’S selflessness.

Do you know a veteran? If you see one, any day of the week, 365 days a year — tell them THANK YOU, shake their hand, buy em a drink. God speed to all my brothers & sisters out there. God bless the U.S.A. !

Veterans-Day

Happy 238th Birthday Marine Corps. So very proud of Dad serving his country as a Marine. Happy Veterans day (on Monday, Nov. 11th). May all of you how deeply thankful and proud I am of you. God bless the United States of America. God bless the Marines. God bless all who served in all the branches. May you know that I salute you for the love you have given to your country. As a citizen of this great nation, my humble thank you is honor of you. Semper Fi.

I have compile a 2 minute and 11 second video of dad’s final day of radiation on October 17, 2013 at 6:15am. It’s not as dramatic as the proton radiation dad had back in March – April 2013, but still a big day for Dad. I hope yall enjoy it.

Fighting cancer every day. Stronger than cancer. We will not give up. Cancer will be destroyed. Here is a little part of our celebration over kicking cancer butt for one year. We went to Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen to celebrate. Go team Cunningham 10/11/2013

Dennis had proton radiation the first time around but this time he is going to have IMRT True Beam 2 that stands for (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy True Beam 2). This radiation will also be able to pinpoint the precise location of the cancer and beam straight to it taking less chance of hurting Dennis’s spinal cord. Plus this type of radiation is used more on patients with neck and head areas. The doctor said his saliva gland will be affected so he will need to drink a lot of fluids to keep his mouth moist. They are planning on 28 treatments of radiation starting on September 10, 2013

Dennis is going to have an intravenous chemo given to him once a week for 5 weeks. They are going to just put an IV in his arm instead of putting a port in since it will only be 1 time a week for 5 weeks. We found out they can only give the IV that the Chemo will be going through in the area of the arm between your wrist and your elbow. It has to do with the fat content in your body.

Dennis had to get some pre-treatment procedures done prior to having to start his IMRT True Beam 2 radiation.
